The routine follows.. I take the lunch, chat with my colleagues for a while and come downstairs to have a look at the newspaper (just going through it..). These days, I'm not even bothered to go thru' the EDs and OpEDs. Just going thru' the prime news, short articles and the glossy pics (yeah, the pro photographers shoot them beautifully, especially the sports ones :) The green fields ie, the court/ground sort of pics refreshes me!
There was an advertisement that caught my eye, that piece was not important for me but for my friend (also my colleague)! It was an advertisement for 'Admissions to the Sports Management program' of a SM (Sports Management) School. Ya, my friend aspire to be the Manager of a Sports Club and might be secretly in his wild dreams/fantasies thinking to be the Manager sometime of CFC (The Chelsea Football Club). He worships Chelsea and is a Football and Cricket Fanatic. He passionately talks about Football and Cricket, plays the Sega Manager (I haven't played it though!) and has keen interest in the policies adopted by the Managers of numerous clubs.
I come back to my desk and dive into the sea of so called work (don't know doing what!!) After sometime my friend, the Chelsea fanatic, who also happens to sit beside me, rolled his chair near mine and wanted to browse chelseafc.com (the site wasn't opening on his machine.. this is some weird errorrr!!) As soon as the homepage of chelseafc opened, it struck to me immediately to tell my pal about that important ad. I gave away the details and i wasn't surprised that he knew about that school and has also contacted it to gain some information. We browsed thru' the site of this school.. There was a page about the students of schools giving away accolades about there school and what was it like to go through the Sports Management program. The image quality of their images was very good...i think that their close up was shot from a good dslr with a very good glass (i.e the lens), may be the lens was a Prime one !! I want to get a prime lens asap that i've become so shameless I keep telling one of my friend to gift me a prime lens on my coming birthday...yeah, i was telling it very playfully :) Coming back to the topic of the image quality, i remember the close up of a girl who looked pretty Pretty!! That's it about the girl now moving further..( Though it's great that in country like ours young women are also shoulder to shoulders in choosing Sports Management as a career. WOW!!!)
I said to my friend to apply for it. He briefed me about the financial and other issues he will face for joining the program and it was not only the financial issues, it was also about the experience issue (i think what one will learn in school or before joining it, he needs to go thru' the function of a club or has to be an associate(may be 1st, 2nd or 3rd) to a manager). And now being in india and with family reponsibilities it is nearly impossible for him, this is what he says.
I ask him to apply to schools in UK. I feel someone somewhere will recognise his passion, his potential and may fund him..I told him this. I also said, "Man, an angel will arrive who'll help you in achieving the task your heart desires for" He smiled and said "this happens in movies and not in the real world" I reminded him that anything can happen in this world...
He finally ended our conversation by saying that time and money are the constraints that bind him now..and this is the truth he may have to live with.
Man, i feel if we search for solutions we find them.. Everything is possible for a willing heart!
P.S: Haven't proofread!
